Location: Perigord Vert, France [MAP]
Designer: Local Farmers
Project Type: Rural, Ephemeral
Completion Date: N/A
Access: The easiest option is to hire a car and drive through the region.Perigord Vert is named after the rolling fields of corn and spectacular sunflowers that emerge during July/August. Sunflowers are known as tournesols, french for “turning to the sun”.
The surrounding countryside undertakes a metamorphosis of growth, starting as tall green stems that later explode into intensely yellow flowers.
The overwhelming feelings of joy and happiness cannot go unnoticed as one passes through the area.
It’s very addictive to stand and admire their beauty. Noticing their movements, colours, size or age is fascinating whilst absorbing all the positive energy the sunflowers emit.
However, the sunflower has a short lifetime and they soon ‘go over’; a reminder to embrace life to the full whilst you can!
