Access: Take a walk through Madrid’s train station
A secret garden to surprise and delight! Before boarding your train in Madrid’s multi story Victorian style station, take the time to explore and find this tropical wonder. The structure of beautiful wrought iron details and frosted glass sky lights spans a huge triple height space creating a magnificent green house space in which to wait for your train.
The climate is perfect for the tropical species growing within the atrium and provides an oasis for passengers to sit by whilst they wait.
At one end of the oasis, a body of water can be found which is home to an impressive terrapin population; a truly unique feature in this secret garden. It attracts a large interest from passengers who are mesmerized by the unusual site and movement of the terrapins.
There are two impressive ramp escalators to transport travellers to the multi-story platforms but also gives spectacular, uninterrupted birds eye views of this landscape. The attention to detail is thoughtful as there are generous viewing platforms between each level allowing people to pause and enjoy the views.
Furthermore the combination of eating outlets and additional edge seating make this an enormously popular and relaxing transitional space between Madrid and the port of call.
